Philippine lawyer accuses Dieter of crimes against humanity?

According to a report by Reuters on April 24th, the Philippine lawyer Jude Sabio said that he had sued President Rogrigo Duterte and senior officials to the International Criminal Court (ICC), accusing them of committing "crimes against humanity" in the national anti-drug campaign.

According to the report, Sabbio is Edgar Matobatto's lawyer. Matobato confessed at the Senate hearing in September, 20 16 that he joined Duterte's "Namo City Death Squad" in 1988 to assassinate the targets that Duterte wanted to eradicate, including criminals. The first public information released by the International Criminal Court was based on the testimony of Matobato and retired police officer arturo Lasner. Lasner Sith confessed to the Senate that he was a member of the firing squad and killed more than 200 people. According to the complaint, Duterte and at least 1 1 senior government officials should be responsible for the murder, and the International Criminal Court should investigate it, issue arrest warrants and try them.

It is reported that Philippine lawmakers failed to find Matobato's testimony in the Senate, and aides of the Philippine President dismissed it as fabricated evidence. Since Duterte took office in the summer of 20 16, nearly 9,000 people have been killed. The Philippine police claimed that this was a legal law enforcement action, and 1 people died in police self-defense. According to human rights organizations, most of the remaining two-thirds were killed by vigilante groups cooperating with the police or "vigilante groups" disguised by the police. However, the police denied this.

In this regard, Duterte denied that he was associated with any assassination group, and said that while ordering the elimination of suspects, he also warned the police that this action must be carried out within the scope of the law. Ernesto Abella, Duterte's official spokesman, said last week that the authorities "follow the operating procedures" and those who violate the procedures will respond before the law. The news report that nearly 9,000 people were killed in the drug war is "fake news".
