Qinhuai River is closely related to the 2500-year history of Nanjing. A river runs through Nanjing from east to west, giving birth to Nanjing's civilization.

Every time it is mentioned, people are always confused about where to start a twenty-four history. This article takes you to talk about a small scenic spot-Taoyedu.

Shili Qinhuai entered the city from Dongshuiguan, and the first scenic spot it passed was Taoyedu.

The scenic spots of the Six Dynasties on both sides of Qinhuai River, such as Zhuque Bridge, Invitation Point, a title of generals in ancient times, Fandu, Runan Pavilion and Zhuge Zhu, have all disappeared. What you can see now is only a peach leaf crossing except the unrecognizable Wuyi Lane.

The well-known Taoyedu and Taoyedu are lucky, mostly because of Wang Xianzhi's Song of Taoyedu: (1) "Taoyefu, you don't have to cross the river. But there is nothing to cross, I will meet you myself. " The last sentence, also called "I will meet myself". However, there are three other poems in Yuefu poetry collection:

(2) Peach leaves reflect red flowers, and there is no wind and grace. What is the limit of spring flowers? I was the only one who came to pick me up.

(3) Peach leaves are compounded with peach leaves, and peach leaves (or "trees") are connected with peach roots. Just sympathizing with these two pleasures makes me diligent (or "linger").

(4) After the peach leaves, don't wait to paddle across the river. The wind and rain are impermanent, crossing the river in death. Qing dynasty painting "peach crossing to find poetry"

It has been analyzed that among the four poems painted in the Qing Dynasty, one, three and two are Wang Xianzhi's accent, two, four and two are peach leaves, which have a singing charm. "Crossing the river without paddles" and "crossing the river without paddles" mean that the wind on the river is urgent, and it is not necessary (or impossible) to use paddles and paddles, so you can cross the river with the help of wind by skillfully using sails. "But there is nothing to cross." Wang Xianzhi on the natural shore comforted the peach leaves on the boat. For example, the peach leaf tune "the wind and rain are impermanent, and you will die if you cross the south of the Yangtze River", which means that the wind and rain are very different from the feeling. The Qing dynasty painted "Let the boat go by Qinhuai"

The Qing dynasty painted "Let the boat go by Qinhuai". Since then, Taoyedu has been sung by poets of all ages. However, the word "storm", which was originally crucial, gradually faded out and became "crossing the water". No wonder people are here today, and the scenery on both sides of the river is another matter. The first thing you see is that the water surface is very narrow, but it is only a dozen or twenty meters. It's hard to imagine how to make waves. However, the Qinhuai River in the Six Dynasties was really a rough and unpredictable river.

The prehistoric Qinhuai River, in the urban planning records of Nanjing, you can see a map of the location of prehistoric ancient rivers. 20,000 to 30,000 years ago, the water distribution in Nanjing was much larger than that in modern times. The east bank of the Yangtze River is roughly in the outer Qinhuai River today. The Qinhuai River, which is hundreds of meters wide, comes from the southeast and enters the city in the area of Wudingmen Gate in the south of the city. There is a westbound river between Fengtai Mountain and Shitou Mountain (now Liangqingshan) connected with the Yangtze River. One passes Huaiqing Bridge and pontoon bridge to the north, passes through Nanjing City, passes through the pass between Jilong Mountain and Fuzhou Mountain, turns to the northwest, and enters the Yangtze River on the east side of Lion Mountain from the downstream line of Jinchuan River. In other words, Xuanwu Lake and Jinchuan River are both part of the entrance channel of Qinhuai River. The hills in between are like islands in the water. This "Schematic Diagram of Ancient River Channel Location" was drawn on the basis of 1983 geological drilling, and the ancient Qinhuai River channel buried under the surface was discovered. The ancient course of Qinhuai River in the north disappeared about 3000 years ago.

Until the Six Dynasties, the mouth of the Yangtze River was near Jingkou (now Zhenjiang) and Guangling (now Yangzhou). Mei Cheng of the Western Han Dynasty described the Guangling tide in "Seven Hair".

"Jumping into Tianjin, poor Song followed Wei, chasing to the shore, dead, bad" "Birds can't fly, fish can't return, animals can't walk. Wings are flying, waves are surging, and clouds are chaotic. Swing the south mountain, hit the north shore with your back, cover the hill and level the west coast. Dangerous play, collapse vicious pool. "

Although divorced from literary language, it is not fiction. In prehistoric times, the Yangtze River estuary must be closer to Nanjing, and Nanjing can be imagined.

Of course, the place names mentioned here did not exist at that time, but were borrowed from later generations for the convenience of narration.
