What does a lawyer do?

Lawyers are legal practitioners who make a living by providing legal services. As far as the specific work of lawyers is concerned, they can be roughly divided into two categories: litigation lawyers and non-litigation lawyers. Litigation lawyers, in short, litigate cases, resolve disputes, and handle disputes, such as going to court, arbitration, mediation, etc. Non-litigation lawyers mainly deal with non-controversial legal matters, such as issuing legal opinions, reviewing and drafting documents, consultation and negotiation, etc., mainly regulating and preventing legal risks. Litigation lawyers are generally the ones who have frequent contact with ordinary people and help resolve various legal disputes. Lawyers are actually a kind of service personnel who use their knowledge of law and related knowledge and accumulated experience in handling legal affairs to serve the general public.

Article 28

Lawyers may engage in the following businesses:

( 1) Accept the entrustment of natural persons, legal persons or other organizations to serve as legal advisors;

(2) Accept the entrustment of parties to civil cases and administrative cases to act as agents to participate in litigation;

p>( 3) Accept the entrustment of criminal suspects and defendants in criminal cases or be assigned by legal aid agencies in accordance with the law to serve as defenders; accept the entrustment of private prosecutors in private prosecution cases, victims of public prosecution cases or their close relatives, and act as agents to participate in litigation;

(4) Accept entrustment to represent various types of litigation cases and appeal cases;

(5) Accept entrustment to participate in mediation and arbitration activities;

(6) Accept entrustment to provide non-litigation services Legal services;

(7) Answer legal consultations and write litigation documents and other documents related to legal affairs.
