What should lawyers do after the procuratorate approves the arrest?

Legal analysis: lawyers should: (1) provide legal services and represent complaints and accusations. (2) applying for obtaining a guarantor pending trial or residential surveillance. (3) Meeting with the criminal suspect. (4) If the detention period expires and the arrest is not approved or the compulsory measures are changed, they may request the cancellation or change of the compulsory measures, and may obtain bail pending trial or monitor their residence.

Legal basis: Article 33 of the Criminal Procedure Law of People's Republic of China (PRC). A criminal suspect has the right to entrust a defender from the day when he is interrogated for the first time by the investigation organ or takes compulsory measures. During the investigation, only lawyers can be entrusted as defenders. The defendant has the right to entrust a defender at any time.
