Hongze District is located in the central part of Jiangsu Province, on the east bank of Hongze Lake. It was established because of the lake and got its name from the lake. Hongze is comparable to Hongze Lake and Baima Lake, surrounded by water. It is known as the "Pearl on the Huai River" and the "Land of Fish and Rice". It is an emerging eco-tourism city on the lakeside.
Hongze District surrounds Hongze Lake. The lake area has many places of interest such as Zhejiang River Tieniu and Xianren Cave. The lake area has hundreds of islands in the middle of the lake, thousand acres of lotus ponds, ten thousand acres of reed swamps and other natural landscapes.
