In 1986, the Shandong Buddhist Association was established, Master Nenglian was elected as the vice president and secretary-general, and later became a member of the Jinan CPPCC. Master Nenglian did not regard the completion of Xingguo Temple as the end of his responsibility. He looked to Shandong and took it as his mission to restore famous temples in Shandong. Therefore, he directly participated or indirectly helped to restore more than a dozen temples, including Lingyan Temple in Changqing, Zhaopu Temple in Zichuan, and Haihui Temple in Yanggu. Changqing Lingyan Temple was built in the Eastern Jin Dynasty and was founded by the famous monk Brown. It has a long history and a wide variety of cultural relics, including the Song Dynasty Arhat statue praised by Liang Qichao as "the best sculpture in the world", the internationally significant An Buddhist and Taoist monument, and the thousand-year-old pagoda. But it wasn't opened until 1988. It can explain that the mage is anxious. Although he advocated it from all sides, he was weak and achieved no results. Just when he couldn't explain the mage, the opportunity came. During 1988, Elder Mingshan, a famous monk and vice president of the Buddhist Association of China, came to Jinan to treat eye diseases. Master Nenglian took this opportunity to report to Elder Mingshan the idea of ??restoring and opening Lingyan Temple, talked in detail about the historical value and international significance of Lingyan Temple, and accompanied Elder Mingshan to visit Lingyan Temple. Elder Mingshan agreed very much with the Master's statement and agreed to help him. That day, Elder Mingshan wrote a long letter to him, hoping to help open Lingyan Temple. Later, with the care of Zhao Pu, famous mountain elders and religious sects at all levels, and the efforts of capable masters, Lingyan Temple was quickly opened.

In 1990, at the request of Master Buddha and the monks of Hehe Temple, he became the abbot of Xingguo Temple.

In early 1992, a Buddhist from Gaosheng Village, Ming Dynasty, Zichuan came to Qianfo Mountain and asked the master to preside over the restoration of Zhaopu Temple. Zhaopu Temple was originally founded by Master Zhao Hui, a disciple of Master Xuanzang. Master Neng Lian, who was over seventy years old, immediately agreed and quickly put forward a construction plan. With the master's inspiration and Ming's efforts, six engineering teams worked together. In less than 100 days, a brand new temple with a simple, elegant and magnificent appearance appeared in the village of Zichuan. In 1999, Master Nenglian was invited by the public second order to live in the West Puzhao Temple. At the Zhao Pu Temple, I was able to explain the importance of the mage and kneel down as best I could. Coupled with years of hard work, he unfortunately suffered a stroke. But he was not intimidated by the disease. While cooperating with doctors, he still worked hard to spread Buddhism.

In 1998, a layman from Yanggu, Shandong, intended to repair Haihui Temple, known as one of the five major temples in North China, and asked the master to preside over the construction. Despite his weakness, the Master nodded. Because I can't go in person. He sent his favorite disciple, Master Renxiu, to take charge of the restoration work. In 1992, Master Renxiu became a monk and gained the ability to explain. He is disciplined, young and promising, and has won the master's legacy. Under the auspices of Master Renxiu, the construction progress of Haihui Temple was very fast. By 2002, the mountain gate, Tianwang Hall, Thousand Buddha Hall, Main Hall, Zang Hall, Dabei Pavilion, abbot, monks' residence and other buildings were restored one after another, making this large-scale temple begin to take shape. In 2002, Master Nenglian was promoted to the French throne at Haihui Temple. The ceremony was neat and the scene was unprecedented. The elders of the mountain congratulated him personally and wrote an important chapter in the history of Shandong Buddhism. At present, under the leadership of Master Nenglian, Haihui Temple has gradually developed into a large jungle in Shandong Province. "Living well is a career, teaching Buddhism is a household chore." It can be explained that the master has always regarded Li Sheng as his foundation. Throughout his life, he "taught and performed on the rooftop, which refers to the pure land" and "taught on both Taiwan and the Internet." When I was in Qianfo Mountain, because Buddhism had just revived and there was a shortage of scriptures, the masters who could explain it had no choice but to devote their knowledge to Buddhism and reality. They wrote many pamphlets to promote Buddhism and ethics, which were deeply loved by believers. When he was at Zhao Pu Temple, he saw that there were many monks and few monks, and the quality of the believers at home was not high, so he opened a Buddhist study class and personally taught the "Jueyuan Sutra", "Hokkekyo", "Three Pure Land Sutras", "Three Rules and Five Precepts", etc. Buddhist scriptures and rituals. It has greatly improved the Buddhist literacy of believers. He trained many accomplished young disciples such as Ren Kong and Ren Xiu. In addition, there are also many people who learned Taoism under Master Neng Shi and later became contemporary monks, such as Master Yongxin, the abbot of Shaolin Temple, Master Miao Hua of China Buddhist Academy, etc.

It can show that the master upholds the Buddhist spirit of salvation, actively participates in public welfare undertakings, raises funds for disaster relief, helps the poor, promotes the establishment of schools, and pays attention to vulnerable groups in society.

For example, during the Yangtze River floods in 1998, Master was able to mobilize believers to donate more than 654.38 million yuan. Relying on his own funding, he has funded dozens of students to complete their studies; every New Year and festival, he always sends his apprentices to buy large quantities of daily necessities and deliver them to the homes of poor and disabled people. There are countless examples like this. Master Nenglian often uses the words of Master Miaozhan to teach his disciples, "Don't forget that there are many suffering people in the world." He is kind and tolerant to others and never puts on airs as a teacher. This is the common feeling of all those who are close to Master Noren. Whether they are his own disciples or strangers who come to visit, he is always polite and courteous. Especially in his later years, many believers came to visit him. Although the master was old, frail and miserable, he insisted on giving each visitor a chance to enlighten him until he was happy and accepted. Because of illness, the Master cannot go to the dining hall to eat. Whenever the waiter brought him porridge and rice, he would cross his hands to express his gratitude.

For me, the master who can explain is very strict and sets a good example for his apprentices in every move he makes. He is diligent and frugal, and the debris in the temple is clean. Whatever he can do, he will do it himself. He can wear a smock for more than ten years, but refuses to wear fine fabrics throughout his life. During the most difficult time, in order to save money to build the temple, he insisted on eating one meal every day. Many disciples were moved to tears secretly. He had no savings and spent all his donations on statues, scriptures and charity. He said: "A grain of rice in Buddhism is bigger than Mount Sumeru. We should cherish every penny and use it where it is most needed."

He can explain that the master hated the shackles of fame and fortune throughout his life. Be indifferent to yourself. He preached and taught throughout his life, but tried to remain anonymous as much as possible. In one of his poems, he wrote: "I'm afraid the mountains are not deep, and I'm tired of having a superficial name." It can be seen that this is a reflection of his principles in life. Looking back on Master Neng’s experience, we cannot help but be impressed by his heroic and fearless spirit in studying Sophora flavescens diligently. We cannot help but be moved by his pure belief in selfless and patriotic teaching, and we cannot but be inspired by his profitable career of "not seeking blessings for himself, but hoping that all living beings can escape suffering." Merit pursues holiness, and virtue is wise. I am sorry for my poor handwriting, in case I cannot describe the merits of the master. I only hope that the master will be in this world for a long time and be full of life. This is the sweet prayer of our hearts.
