He concurrently serves as a member of the National Law Degree Graduate Education Steering Committee, Vice President of the China Criminal Procedure Law Research Association, Executive Director of the China Behavioral Law Society, Director of the Shanghai Law Society, Vice President of the Shanghai Procedural Law Research Association, and Vice President of the Shanghai Comprehensive Governance Research Association. President, Vice President of Shanghai Educational Law Research Association, Special Invited Member of Shanghai CPPCC Social and Legal Committee, Distinguished Professor of Shanghai Law School, Special Researcher of Shanghai People’s Procuratorate, Expert Advisor to Shanghai Higher People’s Court. The main research areas are criminal procedure law, litigation evidence law and Chinese and foreign judicial systems. He is the author of "Research on Evidence in Criminal Procedure" (2002) and "Evidence Law: Issues and Interpretations" (2012).
