The suspect who enters the detention center is the person who is undergoing annual review. They are absolutely forbidden to contact anyone outside the detention center, but they have the right to meet lawyers, and defense lawyers can meet criminal suspects and defendants in custody.
Other defenders, with the permission of the people's court or the people's procuratorate, may also meet and correspond with the criminal suspect or defendant in custody, and the defense lawyer must hold a lawyer's practice certificate and a law firm certificate.
If the power of attorney or legal aid document meets with the criminal suspect or defendant in custody, the detention center shall arrange the meeting in time within 48 hours.
