What is the penalty if a person kills another person?

Anyone who kills someone constitutes the crime of intentional homicide and may be sentenced to death, life imprisonment, or fixed-term imprisonment of more than ten years depending on the severity of the case.

The law stipulates:

Article 232 of the "Criminal Law" Whoever intentionally kills someone shall be sentenced to death, life imprisonment, or fixed-term imprisonment of not less than ten years; if the circumstances are relatively minor, he shall be sentenced to three years to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than 10 years but not more than 10 years.
