1, Shanghai No.1 Intermediate People's Court, located at No.0/200 Hongqiao Road, Changning District, has jurisdiction over seven administrative districts, namely Pudong, Xuhui, Minhang, Changning, Songjiang, Fengxian and Jinshan.
2. Shanghai No.2 Intermediate People's Court, located at No.567, Zhongshan North Road, Jing 'an District, Shanghai, has jurisdiction over nine administrative regions including Yangpu, Hongkou, Huangpu, Jing 'an, Putuo, Baoshan, Jiading, Qingpu and Chongming.

According to Article 25 of the Organic Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), the Intermediate People's Court tried the following cases:
1, a case of first instance under its jurisdiction as stipulated by laws and decrees;
2. Cases of first instance transferred for trial by grassroots people's courts;
3 appeals and protests against the judgments and rulings of the grassroots people's courts;
4, the people's Procuratorate in accordance with the trial supervision procedures to hear the protest cases.
When the intermediate people's court considers that the criminal and civil cases it accepts are serious and should be tried by the people's court at a higher level, it may request that they be transferred to the people's court at a higher level for trial.
The Intermediate People's Court has jurisdiction over the following criminal cases of first instance:
1, case of endangering national security, case of terrorist activities;
2. Ordinary criminal cases that may be sentenced to life imprisonment or death penalty;
The Intermediate People's Court has jurisdiction over the following civil cases of first instance:
1, major foreign-related cases;
2. Cases with significant influence in the region;
3, the Supreme People's Court to determine the cases under the jurisdiction of the intermediate people's court.
Article 14 of the Administrative Procedure Law: The Intermediate People's Court shall have jurisdiction over the following administrative cases of first instance:
(1) Cases in which the invention patent right is confirmed and cases handled by the customs;
(two) cases of litigation against specific administrative acts made by various departments or people's governments at or above the county level in the State Council;
(3) Major and complicated cases within its jurisdiction.
(4) Cases under the jurisdiction of the Intermediate People's Court as stipulated by other laws.
