What does a paralegal do?

A paralegal refers to a person who has graduated from a law major and has not obtained a lawyer's qualification or a legal professional qualification and is engaged in auxiliary work in a law firm. Qualifications: Graduates from law schools and secondary law schools in institutions of higher learning (departments) have mastered the basic knowledge of law and the contents and working procedures of various businesses of lawyers after 1 year internship, and can complete all the auxiliary work in lawyer business.

1. The main work of paralegals is as follows:

1, sending and receiving, sorting and keeping documents and files;

2. Handling letters and visits on legal issues, answering simple legal inquiries and writing simple legal documents;

3. Assist lawyers to investigate and collect evidence, copy documents, extract files, meet defendants or parties, serve documents and handle other auxiliary work;

4. Assist lawyers in handling cases, take court trial records when appearing in court, and deliver documentary evidence;

5. Write relevant legal documents, such as indictment, defense, conversation record, statements of the parties, etc.

6. Responsible for the daily communication between lawyers and clients.

II. Materials for applying for a lawyer's license:

1, "Application Form for paralegals" in duplicate, one recent bareheaded photo with one inch photo attached (inconsistent);

2. Two copies of the applicant's resident identity card and academic certificate; (The original must be submitted to the judicial administrative department for review);

3. Two certificates of good behavior and two certificates of no criminal punishment issued by the police station where the household registration is located;

4. Two employment contracts signed with the law firm;

5. Two certificates of personnel file keeping and unemployment;

6. The applicant's guarantee for the authenticity of the materials provided is in duplicate.

Precautions:

1, retirees only need to submit a copy of their retirement certificate to apply for a paralegal certificate, and there is no need to provide proof of file keeping.
