Depending on the situation:
First, criminals who have been deprived of political rights according to law have no right to vote or be elected, and cannot be village cadres;
2. Those who do not meet the above conditions and have been criminally punished can become village cadres.
The "Organic Law of Village Committees" does not stipulate that people who have been criminally punished cannot be village directors, so people who have been criminally punished can be elected as village directors.

Villagers who are over 18 years old, regardless of nationality or race , gender, occupation, family origin, religious belief, education level, property status, and length of residence, all have the right to vote and be elected; however, people who are deprived of political rights according to law are excepted.
