Since its establishment, Hefei Legal Aid Center has always given priority to safeguarding the rights of vulnerable groups such as the old, the weak, the sick and the disabled, actively explored various measures to facilitate people's consultation and application for legal aid, and tried its best to meet the legal aid needs of people in need. In May, 2004, Hefei Legal Aid Center established the scope of accepting aid cases for Hefei Legal Aid Center according to the Regulations on Legal Aid and the Regulations on Legal Aid in Anhui Province. The scope of accepting aid cases is highly operable. On the one hand, it is convenient for the receptionist to quickly and efficiently examine the application for legal aid of the parties according to law. On the other hand, according to the actual situation of our city, the scope of legal aid has been appropriately expanded to allow more poor people to benefit from legal aid. In order to further expand the coverage of legal aid, Hefei Legal Aid Center has also set up legal aid workstations (offices) in Hefei Poverty Alleviation Center, Hefei Disabled Persons' Federation and Yicheng Prison, and arranged lawyers to be on duty regularly to facilitate specific vulnerable groups to consult and apply for legal aid. In June, 2004, Hefei Legal Aid Center also cooperated with the International Judicial Bridge (Foundation) to strengthen the exchange of international legal aid, and established the first municipal criminal demonstration legal aid center in our city.
