The Criminal Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) stipulates three basic principles of criminal law, namely, the principle of a legally prescribed punishment for a crime, the principle of suiting crime to punishment and the principle of equal application of law. Any criminal case that violates one of these three principles can be appealed.
