So, he went to find a white silk bag, immediately caught dozens of fireflies and put them in, then tied the mouth of the bag and hung it up. It's not very bright, but it can be used for reading. From then on, as long as there are fireflies, he will catch one to use as a lamp. Because he studied hard and practiced hard, he finally achieved something and became an official.
Second, Sun Jing suspended beam
Sun Jing was born in Xindu (now Jizhou District, Hengshui City) in the Han Dynasty. He is young, studious, knowledgeable and has a strong memory. He regards books as his life. Reading and studying at night often stay up late. Neighbors call him "Mr. Close the Door". While studying, Sun Jing always takes notes. He often stays up until after midnight. After a long time, he sometimes falls asleep. I regretted it when I woke up.
One day, he looked up and thought hard, his eyes stayed on the beams, and suddenly his eyes shone. Then I found a rope. One end of the rope is tied to the beam and the lower end is tied to my hair. In this way, whenever he is tired and sleepy and wants to doze off, as long as he lowers his head, the rope will yank his hair, and when it hurts, he will wake up to drive away sleepiness.
Since then, he has studied hard in this way every night. After studying hard year after year, Sun Jing read many poems and became a learned scholar. At that time, he was quite famous in the north of Jianghuai, and students often traveled thousands of miles to him to study and discuss knowledge.
Third, Su Qin is biting.
Su Qin was a famous politician in the Warring States Period, but when he was young, he didn't have much knowledge, and no one paid attention to him in many places. Even if he was ambitious, he couldn't be reused, so he made up his mind to study hard. Because he often reads until late at night, when he is so tired that he wants to take a nap, he stabs himself in the thigh with an awl prepared in advance. This sudden pain made him suddenly wake up and cheer up to continue reading. Later, Su Qin became a famous politician.
Four, Xu Heng is not allowed to eat pears.
Xu Heng once passed Heyang (now mengzhou city) in midsummer. He is thirsty, ie because he has walked a long way and it is hot. There is a pear tree on the road, and everyone is scrambling to pick pears to eat. As usual, Xu Heng sat upright under the tree alone. Someone asked him (why not eat) and (Xu Heng) said, "You can't take it if you don't have it."
The man said, "The situation is chaotic now, and this pear tree has no owner." (Xu Heng) said, "If the pear tree has no owner, will my heart have no owner? What others lose is unacceptable (even immoral). There are fruit trees in the yard. When the fruit ripens and falls to the ground, the (educated) children pass by it and leave without squinting. That is his family's education, so it is like this. "
Xu Heng told us that although pears can be ownerless, our hearts cannot be ownerless. Honesty is golden, and only honest people can gain the respect and trust of others. One should have his own principles. You should have your own moral standards when dealing with people. Resist temptation and be honest with others. Later, Xu Heng became an outstanding "astronomer thinker, educator and jurist" in China in the13rd century.
Five, Kuang Heng stole the light.
Kuang Heng studies hard and works hard. In the Western Han Dynasty, there was a farmer's child named Kuang Heng. He wanted to study very much when he was a child, but because his family was poor, he couldn't afford to go to school. Later, he learned to read from a relative before he could read. He stood up and went to the wall to have a look. Ah! It turned out that the neighbor's lamp was stolen from the crack in the wall. So Kuang Heng thought of a way: he picked up a knife and dug several cracks in the wall. In this way, the light coming through is also very big, so he gathered the light coming through and began to read.
There is a large family in the county who is illiterate, rich and has many books. Kuang Heng went to his house as an employee, but he didn't want to be paid. He was standing in the yard enjoying the beautiful scenery behind the snow, and suddenly his heart moved: Can you study under the snow?
He hurried back to the house, took out his book and looked at the reflection of snow. Sure enough, the handwriting is clear, much brighter than the dim little oil lamp! So he didn't feel sleepy, so he put on his clothes, took out his book and read in the snow. Despite the cold, Sun Kang studied tirelessly, his hands and feet were frozen stiff, so he got up and ran, rubbing his fingers at the same time.
From then on, Sun Kang no longer worried about the lack of lamp oil. Throughout the winter, he studied day and night, neither afraid of the cold nor tired, and often read the cock crow. Even though the north wind roared and the dripping water turned into ice, he never stopped studying. Sun Kang made great efforts to make progress in his studies, and finally became a prestigious scholar (ancient scholar).
