Legal analysis: during the meeting, the defense lawyer can record the meeting. If a meeting record is made, it shall be signed by the criminal suspect and the defendant for confirmation when necessary. During the meeting, with the consent of the criminal suspect and the defendant, the defense lawyer may record, video and take photos of the meeting. The detention center shall not obstruct the recording, video recording and photographing of defense lawyers in any form.
Legal basis: Article 37 of the Criminal Procedure Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), defense lawyers can meet and correspond with criminal suspects and defendants in custody. Other defenders, with the permission of the people's courts and people's procuratorates, may also meet and correspond with criminal suspects and defendants in custody.
