Why did the newly bought mobile phone get stolen?

On August 2, Ms. Zheng of Changsha was a little depressed recently: she bought an Apple 7 from a friend for 6490 yuan, but she didn't expect it to be stolen, and was taken to the police station by the police from her work unit. In order to save face, she took her friend to court, asked her to pay three times the price, and publicly apologized at work. Recently, the case was mediated by the Furong District People's Court in Changsha. Buyers and sellers choose to shake hands and make peace. On the basis of refunding the payment before, their friends transferred 1 10,000 yuan to WeChat in court as compensation for spirit, reputation and lost time.

Ms. Zheng's good friend Meng is in the wholesale business of mobile phones. At the end of last year, Ms. Zheng bought an Apple 7 mobile phone from Meng for 6,490 yuan. After using it, she found that the quality of the mobile phone was very good, which was no different from the "genuine licensed products" guaranteed by her friends.

What puzzled her, however, was that this year 1 month and February, she received two phone calls claiming to be policemen of Lugu police station in Changsha, claiming that she was suspected of a criminal case of stealing mobile phones and asked her to go to the police station to handle it. Ms. Zheng thought that the other party had made a mistake and ignored it. But in March 10, the police found their unit and took it to the police station, and she realized that there was something wrong with this mobile phone.

The police learned from Ms. Zheng that the seller of the mobile phone was Meng, and this mobile phone was originally sold to Meng by Ye at a price of 6,200 yuan. Meng sold her mobile phone to Ms. Zheng at a high price without checking the supply channel. In order to save face, Ms. Zheng asked Meng to apologize at the workplace and give a full refund on the spot. Because the negotiation was fruitless, it finally went to court.

In the indictment submitted by Ms. Zheng to the court, it is stated that Meng needs to compensate her for three times the purchase price and publicly apologize. After the trial, the court held that the Apple 7 sold by Meng was indeed a licensed mobile phone, and there was no quality problem, and it did not know that the mobile phone was stolen and there was no fraudulent sales. However, Ms. Zheng was taken away by the police in the workplace, which caused misunderstanding among colleagues and caused mental and reputation losses. In addition, Ms. Zheng also incurred lost time and lawyer's fees. Meng should make reasonable compensation for these losses.

To sum up, after mediation by the judge of Furong District People's Court in Changsha, the two parties are willing to shake hands and make peace: on the basis of returning the purchase price in the early stage, Meng paid Ms. Zheng compensation of 1 10,000 yuan through WeChat transfer.

Remind consumers not to be cheap and convenient when buying valuables such as mobile phones, but to buy them in regular shopping malls or specialty stores. Similarly, as an operator, it is also necessary to conduct strict examination and inspection of incoming goods. Don't be greedy and cheap.
