Legal basis: Article 38 of the "Lawyers Law of the People's Republic of China" Lawyers shall keep state secrets and commercial secrets learned during their professional activities and shall not disclose the privacy of their clients. Lawyers shall keep confidential relevant information and materials that their clients and others are unwilling to disclose in the course of their professional activities. However, criminal facts and information that are being prepared or implemented by the client or others that endanger national security, public safety, or seriously endanger the personal safety of others are excluded.
