Shanghai University of Finance and Economics is a multi-disciplinary key university focusing on economic management, with coordinated development of economics, management, law, literature and science. As of August 2020, the school has 7 disciplines; 9 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 15 first-level discipline master degree authorization points, and 7 postdoctoral research mobile stations; National "double first-class" construction disciplines 1 discipline, 6 first-class disciplines in Shanghai universities and 2 top disciplines in Shanghai universities; It has a national-level "innovation platform for advantageous disciplines"-an economic innovation platform, and three academic innovation and intelligence introduction bases in colleges and universities ("11plan"). The school's predecessor was Nanjing Normal University 19 1938, and 1932 was established independently. 1950 was named National Shanghai Business School. The school was renamed Shanghai University of Finance and Economics 1985, and the school was renamed Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
By 2022, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics ranked 33rd in China University of Soft Science in 2022.
