In the 41st year of Wanli (1613), Ma Qian Cheng was infected with the Xia epidemic, and because of his rude reception, he offended Qiu Chengyun, the eunuch sent by the Ming Dynasty to supervise the army, and was framed and imprisoned by Qiu Chengyun. While in prison, without access to treatment or recuperation, Ma Qiancheng fell seriously ill and died.
