Yang Wei, a gymnast, won the all-around gold medal in gymnastics at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. In 2006 and 2007, he won the World Championships All-around Championship twice in a row, which was the first athlete to complete this feat after Yugoslav star Perthar Su Mi defended the World Championships All-around Championship with 1926. He is currently the deputy director of Gymnastics Management Center of Hubei Provincial Sports Bureau. In 2008, he was elected as the representative of the 11th National People's Congress.
