Can the news media report the criminal cases being tried in the first instance?

Regarding whether the media broadcast the case live, the report should be decided by the court according to the circumstances of the case. According to the provisions of Article 11 of the Judicial Rules of the People's Courts, in any of the following circumstances, the people's courts may broadcast live or record pictures, words, audio and video through television, internet or other public media:

(1) High public attention;

(2) Great social impact;

(three) the rule of law publicity and education is of great significance.

In other words, whether the media has the right to report cases should be decided by the judiciary, which does not belong to the power of the media.
