Employment direction and prospect of law major

Employment direction and prospect of law major: litigator, non-litigator, corporate legal affairs, academic route.

1, litigator

If you are quick-thinking, eloquent, good at dealing with different people, and enjoy it, then you can become a litigator, "quoting classics", "discussing Taoism with Confucianism" and "being besieged on all sides" in court. However, the future is bright and the road is tortuous.

Choosing this road, at first, without the source of the case and experience, is very difficult. You should be mentally prepared, but you can usually do better by sticking to it. If you choose to do litigation, you can choose a field to go deep according to your own resources and interests, such as specializing in commercial cases, family cases, civil cases, labor law cases, intellectual property cases, criminal cases and so on.

2. Non-litigation lawyer

If you pay attention to details, love to study the internal logic of legal relations and legal documents, and have strong information collection, analysis and processing capabilities, you can also choose to become a non-litigation lawyer. Non-litigation lawyers do not need to appear in court. Their main job is to draft and negotiate all kinds of important business documents, contracts and articles of association, conduct legal research, issue legal opinions, conduct legal due diligence and so on.

Many cases contacted by non-litigation lawyers are important transactions that can make financial news, and the opposing lawyers are usually from well-known law firms. Non-litigation cases are very beneficial to the improvement of lawyers' personal business ability and the accumulation of experience.

3. Corporate Legal Affairs Department

Being a lawyer may not be as good as entering a law firm, but corporate lawyers know the industry better than external lawyers. As a well-known partner lawyer said when he transferred to an Internet company as general counsel, "external lawyers decide how fast this industry can go, and internal lawyers decide how far this industry can go."

If you choose to join the company, you can choose the appropriate company practices according to the development trend of the industry, your own resources and hobbies. We often say that "choice is greater than hard work", and we should choose the industry before choosing the company when entering the company.

4. Academic route

Studying academics and teaching legal knowledge in the ivory tower is not the first choice for many young people. However, with the growth of age and experience, a three-foot table has also become a "yearning place". Learning to be a teacher is an enviable profession, and even better, law teachers in colleges and universities have the opportunity to experience other legal professions.

Law is a very practical industry, and many colleges and universities allow teachers to work as lawyers outside. College teachers have profound theoretical foundation, and many of them are employed as arbitrators by arbitration institutions to try and decide cases like judges. There are also many law teachers in colleges and universities who work part-time as legal advisers and independent directors for enterprises. The identity of a scholar always makes people feel credible, professional and fair.
