Detention centers are places where criminals and criminal suspects are temporarily held. The detention center is an organ that detains criminal suspects who have been arrested and detained according to law. If a prisoner sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment has less than three months left before being handed over for execution, the detention center shall execute it on his behalf.
Article 85 of the Criminal Procedure Law: After detention, the detained person shall be immediately sent to the detention center for custody, and no later than 24 hours.
Article 93 After an arrest, the arrested person shall be immediately sent to a detention center for custody.
