What are the situations of lawyers' conflicts of interest?

Legal analysis: "conflict of interest" is an imported concept, which describes a situation in which an agent is entrusted by an unspecified person or a specific person, violates the obligation to be loyal to the public interests of an unspecified society or the interests of a specific client, and abuses the entrustment relationship and agency right in the process of performing agency duties, damaging the interests of the client and benefiting himself (including direct and indirect interests). Conflicts of interest can be divided into direct conflicts of interest and indirect conflicts of interest, that is, conflicts of interest between principals and trustees and conflicts of interest between principals of the same trustee.

Legal basis: Article 39 of the Lawyers Law of People's Republic of China (PRC). A lawyer shall not act as an agent for both parties in the same case, nor shall he act as an agent for legal affairs that have conflicts of interest with himself or his close relatives.
