Do lawyers need to provide the original household registration book when they go to the detention center to meet criminal suspects?

The lawyer does not need the original household registration book when meeting, but when signing the entrustment contract with the suspect's family, he will ask for the relevant kinship certificate.

Legal basis:

Paragraph 2 of Article 37 of the Criminal Procedure Law stipulates:

If a defense lawyer holds a lawyer's practice certificate, a law firm's certificate, a power of attorney or a letter of legal aid to ask for a meeting with the criminal suspect or defendant in custody, the detention center shall arrange the meeting in time, which shall not exceed 48 hours at the latest.
