How to enhance the ability of wifi signal to pass through the wall

Routers have the functions of judging network addresses and selecting IP paths. It can establish flexible connection in multi-network interconnection environment, and can connect all kinds of subnets with completely different data grouping and media access methods. Now every family has a WIFI signal, but there are always a few places in the family where the WIFI signal strength is very low. How to enhance the indoor WIFI signal strength? Which is stronger than walking through a wall? Here are five ways to enhance the home WIFI signal and improve the wireless network coverage of the router for your reference.

Scheme 1: Explore the best performance of existing routers.

1, the location of the router.

Everyone knows that the closer to the router, the stronger the WIFI signal. But how many people will put the router near the corner?

If the router was placed in the corner before, now find a better location, and the coverage effect can be improved by more than 20%.

Suggestion: If possible, the router should be placed in the middle of the house.

Features: If there is a suitable placement position, the lifting effect is quite obvious and the operation is simple. However, due to the limitations of home furnishings and network cable access, only local coverage can be solved.

note:

It is best not to put wireless or magnetic equipment such as microwave oven, induction cooker, refrigerator and stereo beside it.

At the same time, for the sake of health, try not to put it next to chairs and beds (radiation problem, basically one meter away from the router, radiation will not have much impact)

2. Adjust the antenna angle of the router.

Where is your router? Or sauce purple? Honey, this is not transformers!

The last one is a more reliable statement. If the antennas of the router are placed in disorder (common in multi-antenna routers), the antennas will interfere with each other and affect the signal transmission.

Suggestion: The antenna should be placed vertically. Whether it is placed on a table or hung on a wall, the antenna should be perpendicular to the ground.

Features: It can only slightly improve the propagation effect of wireless signals (after all, few people will randomly place antennas).

3. Channel selection

Our commonly used 2.4G-WIFI generally has 13 channels to choose from. If there are more 2.4G devices working on this channel nearby, the transmission effect of this channel will be poor. At present, most routers claim that they can automatically adapt to the best channel, but only when they are turned on. After a while, the best channel has changed, and the router will not adapt accordingly.

At this time, you need to set it manually.

There are some auxiliary tools that can be used to test the channel quality. For example, a mobile phone can download a WIFI analyzer, which can simply measure the signal strength and channel quality.

Suggestion: When the signal is bad, you can choose a better wireless channel. Generally speaking, 1,1,13 are seldom used.

Features: The signal quality is improved to some extent, but this effect cannot last (an idle channel may be crowded again in a few days).

4. Transmit power

By increasing the transmission power, wireless signals will naturally travel further, but this power is limited. The first is the radiation factor, and the relevant national standards will limit the maximum transmission power. Moreover, if the transmission power is increased, the sensitivity of the receiving end will not be improved, and the remote device still cannot connect to the network.

As far as the current router is concerned, the transmission power can be adjusted (up to 100%), which is generally in the wireless advanced setting.

The antenna mentioned by others, high gain antenna, will increase the transmission distance, but at home, it is not recommended to use:

High-gain antennas travel far, but the short-range network experience is not good;

Large radiation, harmful to health;

High-gain antennas need appropriate transmission power matching.

So generally speaking, it is ok to use the antenna that comes with the router (5dbi is used more at home).

Add a little

Just now, when answering a question on the intelligent help, I mentioned a method to expand the signal of cans.

This can indeed enhance the wireless signal in one direction, but it is unstable and will affect the wireless signal in other directions. Generally speaking, it is not particularly practical. Unless your router is somewhere in your home, you can try it. However, it should also be noted that if the angle and direction are wrong, the signal may be weakened. You can try it if you are interested.

Option 2: Switch to a router with high power and high gain.

If the previous router is not enough, many people still use this method, that is, change to a better router.

1, 300m, with 450m router.

At present, most of the 450M products are TP-Link products, and Huawei also has two models. The better models are: TL-WR204 1, TL-WR94 1, WS550 of Huawei, etc. (TL-WR886 and TL-WR885 are not very good).

In addition, the measured coverage effect and signal strength of the 360 router P 1 are good, and the price is only 89 yuan (although this is only a 300M router, it is enough, after all, the dual-frequency technology has been gradually popularized, depending on whether it is necessary to start).

2. Switch to dual-band routers, and there are many such products.

Tp: wdr7500, WDR5800, etc.

Polar Routing: Polar Routing 2, Polar Routing 3.

Huawei Glory Router and Xiaomi Router (in terms of coverage, these two routers have average performance, but many functions and good experience).

Even better:

Netgear, ASUS and Linksys' high-end routers.

3. Switch to the enterprise router.

Compared with ordinary home routing, enterprise routing has greatly improved signal stability and coverage (such as commercial AP), but it is less used: it is expensive, relatively troublesome to set up, and unnecessary (unless you are a villa or a super mansion with a big yard)

By the way, the ultimate and most powerful solution here, the enterprise-level routing coverage system, can completely generate WIFI signals that can be covered by the whole hotel and the whole park. I just don't know if this is necessary in your family. If so, please contact me. \ (o)/~。

Option 3: Buy brouter.

No matter how powerful a single router is, its coverage is limited. At this time, we can use numbers to make up, one can't, and two are on it. This is also a plan that many people choose. To this end, we have the function of WDS, which is convenient for us to bridge multiple routers.

Let's take a look at the most difficult WDS bridging process (basically, the old router is a little pitted, and the new router is more convenient to set up)

Suggestion: When the home is a little bigger and there are many walls, a single router can meet the demand.

Features: The installation is a little troublesome (mainly the setting of the old brouter is a little troublesome, but now the operation of the new router is simplified), and the signal stability is a little poor (sometimes disconnection may occur and it needs to be reset). However, if the router is placed in the right place, the effect is quite good, which can basically meet the needs of most single-storey houses.

note:

It is recommended to buy a router from the same manufacturer as the original router, and the stability of the network will be better.

The bridged router should not be too far away from the first router and there should not be too many obstacles around it.

Generally speaking, a router can bridge at most two more (three can already hold nearly 150 flat houses). Too many suggestions will affect the stability of the network.

Because the router is the key equipment in the network, in view of various security risks in the network, the router must have the following security features:

(1) Reliability and line safety reliability require fault recovery and load capacity. For routers, reliability is mainly reflected in two situations: interface failure and increased network traffic. Therefore, backup is one of the indispensable means for routers. When the main interface fails, the backup interface automatically works to ensure the normal operation of the network. When the network traffic increases, the backup interface can also undertake the task of load sharing.

(2) Authentication in the authentication router mainly includes authentication when accessing the router, authentication of the opposite router and authentication of routing information.

(3) Access Control For the access control of routers, hierarchical password protection is required. There are IP address-based access control and user-based access control.

(4) When hiding information and peer-to-peer communication, there is no need for real identity communication. With address translation, you can hide the internal address and access the external network only through the public address. Except for the connection initiated by the internal network, users outside the network cannot directly access the resources in the network through address translation.

(5) data encryption

In order to avoid information leakage caused by data eavesdropping, it is necessary to encrypt the transmitted information, and only the opposite end communicating with it can decrypt the ciphertext. By encrypting the message sent by the router, the privacy and integrity of the data and the authenticity of the message content can be guaranteed even if it is transmitted on the Internet.

(6) Attack detection and prevention

As the external interface device of the internal network, the router is the first target for an attacker to enter the internal network. If the router does not provide attack detection and defense, it is also a bridge for attackers to enter the internal network. Providing attack detection on the router can prevent some attacks.
