What is the translation of Wang Shouren's eight-part essay "A man with lofty ideals"?

Translation:

Saints can judge the psychological perfection and kindness of those who have firm beliefs.

People with lofty ideals are people who have faith in their hearts and are not confused by selfish desires. When such people face do or die, I only see that they just want to have a clear conscience, but have they ever cared about their bodies? This is Confucius' feeling for people who have no ambition and no heart in the world, so he said something to show people.

This is to say: things change, life and death. Although there are people who drag out an ignoble existence in the face of danger and damage benevolence in order to survive, there are also people who sacrifice their lives in the face of danger in order to achieve benevolence at the expense. This is the standard to distinguish right from wrong, and it is also human nature and easy to be confused. Where can I learn from people with lofty ideals?

The so-called people with lofty ideals always think that they shoulder the heavy responsibility of human relations. His ambition and thoughts are lofty and pure, and he often wants to build a road to the world. The so-called benevolent person has the virtue of the world and a bright and clear heart, which will inevitably make the world clean.

These two kinds of people are doomed to unexpected changes, so they can't panic, and they can't lose their gains and losses. Neither death nor life will be a burden to them.

It is true that at the worst of the disaster, we can avoid it and save our lives. However, despite the disaster, our bodies are safe, but our hearts are not calm. This is what people who drag out an ignoble existence do, which they disdain to do. Suddenly met with misfortune, of course, there is a way to survive by luck, but such survival is not a natural thing, their lives are saved, but benevolence is lost, which is immoral and they will not do it.

What they do can only be to realize their ideals with their lives and make the virtues of the world last forever when justice and selfish desires can't exist. Even if you die, you have no regrets (what you have done) Only when their inner ideals and reality cannot be kept at the same time can they give their lives to save the crisis and make the road of the world more perfect. Even if you sacrifice, you won't regret it.

When the country is ruined, it is really a benevolent move to save the country with your life! They stood up without fear. They did it willingly and didn't refuse. If you can fulfill your desire to contribute to the world, you will work hard and give it life and death. People are displaced, give up their lives, and send others to live and work happily. It is really a benevolent move!

They are active and fearless, and they are as ordinary and happy as going home to do such a thing. If you can be benevolent, do it with your life, and you have to give it life and death. You can't help but cherish it.

This shows that their own hearts attach great importance to ideals, while their bodies are very light. Their impassioned practice of perfecting benevolence is what people with lofty ideals have the courage to do, and it is also what people with lofty ideals naturally want to do. Look at those people who are hesitant and timid in the face of disaster and just want to drag out an ignoble existence. What is this?

The pursuit of inner ideals is the meaning of survival, and the pursuit of physical preservation is the obstacle to the realization of ideals. They calmly die to show justice, which is exactly what people with lofty ideals are determined to do. Look at those who shelter themselves and just want to survive the disaster. What is this?

It can be seen that people with ambitions should be ashamed of what they have done, while people without ambitions in the world should be ashamed; Compared with the actions of benevolent people, heartless people in the world should reflect more.
