The new concept of "exhibition economy" has been listed as a key industry in many big cities. According to rough calculation, in 2002, the direct income of convention and exhibition industry in China was as high as 7 billion yuan, accounting for 0.07% of GDP, and indirectly promoted the income of tourism, catering, transportation, advertising, entertainment, real estate and other industries by hundreds of billions of yuan. Exhibition has become a new economic concept and a new growth point of economic development, and it is increasingly developing in the direction of internationalization, specialization, scale and branding. Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and other places are radiating all over the country with the leading trend of convention and exhibition industry. Some local governments and trade associations are also making emergency preparations for the development planning of the convention and exhibition industry. With more and more conferences and exhibitions, more and more people participate in the planning and management of conferences and exhibitions. Like many fields that have just started, most of the people in charge of these conferences and exhibitions leave their homes halfway or accept tasks temporarily, with almost no relevant professional background and training.
In response to this market demand, the National Service Professional Committee of the State Council State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission's Business Skills Appraisal and Catering Service Development Center organized industry experts and scholars to conduct research and demonstration for many times, and decided to carry out vocational qualification certification training for (exhibition) services nationwide. This certificate will become a necessary condition for exhibitors to hold certificates. At present, the National Service Professional Qualification Appraisal Committee has completed the basic work of the teaching materials, examination methods and national question bank of this system.
