National Development Research Institute (NSD) of Peking University is a multidisciplinary comprehensive college based on economics in Peking University. Its predecessor was China Center for Economic Research (CCER) of Peking University, which was founded in 1994 by six overseas economics doctors including Lin Yifu. With the participation of more scholars and the expansion of research and teaching scale, it was renamed National Development Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as National Development Research Institute) in 2008.
The National Development Institute has well-known scholars at home and abroad in economics, management, politics, educational economics, demography and other disciplines. Adhering to the inclusive and harmonious style of study of Peking University, the College pays attention to the practical problems in China, devotes itself to the combination of academics and reality, and spares no effort to promote the progress of China. After more than 20 years of development, the National Development Institute has formed a comprehensive college integrating teaching, scientific research and think tanks, and has become an important part of building a world-class university in Peking University.
In terms of teaching, the National Development Institute has formed three major teaching systems: politics, business and learning. In terms of academic education, the master's and doctoral programs in economics of the National Development Institute are in a leading position in the country, and graduates have become a new force in China's economic circles; After more than 20 years of tempering, the double major/minor in economics has become an important business card of Peking University. From the autumn of 20 17, the National Development Institute began to recruit undergraduates majoring in economics (the development direction of the country).
In terms of business education, the BiMBA project under the National Development Institute started at 1998. MBA and EMBA education have been demonstrated in the world with academic orientation and rigorous teaching, and student evaluation has been in the leading position in China for a long time; EDP project mainly focuses on the internal training of high-end customized enterprises, which is widely praised by the society. In terms of government administration and economic management education, the National Development Institute has undertaken a major national project-Peking University Institute for South-South Cooperation and Development, which specializes in training middle and senior officials from developing countries.
In terms of scientific research, the National Development Institute is in a leading position at home and abroad in terms of per capita academic publications. Teachers' academic papers are published in famous academic magazines at home and abroad, such as American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Economics, China Social Sciences, Economic Research and Economic Quarterly.
In terms of think tank construction, the National Development Institute adheres to the concept of "small organization, big network", aggregates the research resources of Peking University and even the whole world, and produces a number of influential policy suggestions on many major issues, such as the relationship between the government and the market, new rural construction, land issues, state-owned enterprise reform, telecom reform, stock market governance, population policy, economic restructuring, etc., which have been adopted by the government.
After years of efforts, the National Development Institute has become a well-deserved leader among think tanks in domestic universities, and was selected as the first batch of high-end think tanks in China in 20 15. The National Development Institute has three brand activities of think tanks: China Economic Observation Report, Ge Zheng and National Development Forum, and has led the organization of China-US Economic Dialogue and China-US Health Dialogue, making outstanding contributions to China-US non-governmental diplomacy.
