Athabasca University is a member of the Canadian Association of Colleges and Universities. It was established on 1970 by order of Alberta government. Its mission is to clear the way for adults in Alberta, Canada and around the world to receive traditional university education with multiple restrictions. In order to achieve this goal, universities have adopted the policy of open admission in undergraduate degree courses.
