Changjiang Nuclear Power Project plans to build four 650,000 kW PWR nuclear power units, and plans to adopt CNP600 standard double-loop PWR nuclear power units independently developed by CNNC, taking Qinshan Nuclear Power Phase II expansion project under CNNC as a reference power station. The project is constructed in two phases, and the first unit is scheduled to be put into commercial operation at the end of 20 14. Based on the 70% expansion project of Qinshan Nuclear Power Phase II, the project will further improve the localization rate of equipment, consolidate the localization achievements of the second generation of improved nuclear power equipment and reduce the manufacturing cost. China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd. completed the preliminary feasibility study report of Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Plant on June 5, 2008+10, and held a review meeting of the preliminary feasibility study report of Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Plant at the end of February, forming a preliminary review opinion and entering the feasibility study stage. On July 18, 2008, the National Development and Reform Commission approved the preliminary work of Changjiang Nuclear Power Project in Hainan Province. On March 30, 2009, the negative excavation work of Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Station officially began.
