This is what we now call a comet. Before this16th century, a Danish astronomer named Bula gave a very absurd explanation for comets. He regarded comets as "devil's stars" and said that they were a sign that God would punish mankind. Just like China called comets "broomsticks" in ancient times, their appearance is ominous.
For dozens of nights in a row, this comet always moves slowly along its own orbit in the vast starry sky. People look at this "demon star" day and night in fear, and the land of Europe presents a chaotic scene. It was not until it faded away and disappeared into interstellar space that people settled down again.
However, among countless pairs of eyes staring at comets, there is a pair of fearless blue eyes. These eyes are shining with wisdom, revealing a feverish feeling of longing to uncover the mystery of this ghostly star. They are the eyes of Edmond Halley (1656 ~ 1742, British astronomer and mathematician).
