What are the visa procedures for going to Iran?

Iranian ordinary visa

Applicable to passengers with valid China passports from China (including Hongkong and Macau) or other countries and regions. Applicants need to go to the visa office of the embassy or the visa center of the corresponding consular district, or they can find other institutions to handle it.

Application fee: 800 yuan RMB.

Processing time: depending on the efficiency of the embassy or consulate, it usually takes 3-5 working days. Please call the embassy or consulate to ask.

You can't apply for an Iranian visa within one year with an Israeli visa or a passport stamped for entry and exit.

Step 1. Determine the travel plan to Iran.

Determine the general travel plan to Iran, and make round-trip air tickets and accommodation reservations. Air tickets, travel itinerary and accommodation reservation should be attached to the application materials.

Step two. Invitation letter to Iran (approval number).

Travelers need to obtain an invitation letter issued by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs before applying. If they need to call the China and Iranian embassies and consulates for consultation, they also need to provide the invitation number first.

Invitations can be sent through some Iranian travel agencies or hotels, and the agency will charge a certain fee, usually 30-50 euros. Travel agencies send letters to embassies or consulates designated by travelers. Call the embassy or consulate to confirm that they have received your invitation, and then you can apply.

Step three. Prepare the materials for applying for an ordinary visa

The materials required to apply for an ordinary visa in Iran are:

Original passport, valid for more than 6 months from the date of application, with at least two blank pages;

Two 6×4 cm passport photos of the applicant and his accompanying family members;

One original and one copy of the ID card;

Copy of passport personal information page;

One original and one copy of the insurance card;

Step four. Go to embassies and consulates in China to submit materials.

The applicant shall bring the specified materials to the corresponding Iranian embassy or consulate to submit the materials. After the application is approved, the applicant pays the visa fee according to the instructions, and then goes to the Iranian Embassy and Consulate to apply for a visa.

Step five. Get a visa

When the applicant applies for a visa at the China Embassy or Consulate in Iran, he should carefully check whether all the information on the visa is correct in time, especially the starting and ending time of the visa and the number of days of stay, and whether the personal information such as the spelling of the name on the visa is correct.
