On June 9th, 20021,at the World Semiconductor Conference, Wu Hanming, an academician of China Academy of Engineering, pointed out the current situation of chips in China: China still needs eight SMICs to complete the domestic substitution of chips. In short, China needs eight SMIC production capacity to meet the growing demand for chips in the current semiconductor market. This means that it is difficult for China to solve the problem of chip production in a short time. However, with the continuous fermentation of global chip shortage, it provides more possibilities for the development of chips in China, and the localization process of chips in China is expected to be further accelerated.
