Is Yang Jiye Liuzi Yang or Yang Yanjing?

Historically, Yang (958-10/4), whose real name was Yang Yanlang, was the eldest son of Yang Ye, a famous anti-Liao warrior in the Northern Song Dynasty. Liao people think that the sixth main town of the Big Dipper, Youyanbei, is their nemesis, and Liao people regard it as six stars (general stars) falling from the sky, so they call it Yang Liulang. It is also said that in the Tang and Song Dynasties, appellation was popular, either by the same grandfather or by the same great-grandfather, and by age among peers. For example, Fan Chun is the fourth son of Fan Zhongyan, but ranks fifth. The so-called man is "Fan (Zhang: respected as a scholar-bureaucrat in Tang and Song Dynasties)". Therefore, although Yang is the eldest son of Yang Ye, he fell to the sixth place in the big ranking.

In novels, operas and folklore, Yang is the sixth son of Yang Ye, so the name of He Yanjing is a change caused by folk circulation.

In the Ming Dynasty novel Biography of Northern Song Dynasty (also known as Biography of Yang Jiajiang and Romance of Yang Jiajiang), Liu Lang was Yang, and in the Romance of Yangjiafu, Liu Lang was Yang. In the early Peking Opera Iron Flag Array, all seven brothers had a single name, and Liulang was Yang Jing. In Yuan Zaju, Liulang was called Yang Yanjing, and this name is still used in many plays.
