Qin Yuan Stone Pagoda was built in the first year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (1522), which is the Qin Yuan bone pagoda of the abbot of Xia Yuan Temple. Qin Yuan Stone Pagoda is a seven-level entity with a height of 4.9 meters, which is made of bluestone. The side of the tower on each floor is octagonal. The first and fourth layers are tetrahedrons. Each side is engraved with a 1 cm square inscription in regular script, which is beautiful and powerful, and records the historical scale of Xia Yuan Temple and Qin Yuan's life, merits and demerits. The towers on the second and third floors are octahedrons, with figures, horses, sika deer and flowers carved on each side. The fifth and sixth floors are octagonal with plum blossom patterns engraved on each side, and the seventh floor is cylindrical. Gaiwatou is a lotus flower with eight sides and three layers. It's a jewel top. Qin Yuan Stone Pagoda is not only the physical data for studying the religion, culture and history of Xingshan in Ming Dynasty, but also the only ancient pagoda left in Xingshan at present.
In 2008, due to geological changes, a sinkhole with a depth of more than 20 meters appeared on the left side of Qin Yuan stone pagoda, and the stone pagoda fell sideways into the sinkhole. In 20 10, the stone pagoda was hoisted from the bottom of the sinkhole and moved to 15 meters northwest of the original site. After that, it was rebuilt in strict accordance with the original structure of the stone pagoda, and now it has been restored to its original appearance.
