China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC for short) is a management and service organization established on June 3rd with the approval of the national competent department, and exercises the duties of the national Internet network information center.
As a builder and operator of China's information society infrastructure, China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) aims to "provide services for netizens in China and promote the healthy and orderly development of the Internet in China". Responsible for managing and maintaining the Internet address system in China, leading the development of Internet address industry in China, authoritatively releasing Internet statistical information in China, and participating in the Internet community on behalf of China.
Main responsibilities undertaken by CNNIC:
1. Internet address resource registration management
Approved by the national authorities, China Internet Information Center (CNNIC) is the domain name registration agency and the domain name root server operator in China. China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) is responsible for the operation and management of national top-level domain names. CN, Chinese domain name system, general website system and wireless website system, and provide uninterrupted domain name registration, domain name resolution and Whois query services for users all over the world with professional technology.
China Internet Information Center (CNNIC) is a member of National IP Address Registration Organization (NIR) of Asia Pacific Internet Information Center (APNIC). The IP address distribution alliance convened by China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) is responsible for providing IP address and AS number distribution management services for Internet service providers (ISPs) and network users in China.
2. Internet survey and related information services
China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) is responsible for the development of Internet in China and other Internet statistical surveys, describing the macro-development of Internet in China and truthfully recording its development context. The authority and objectivity of China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) have been widely recognized at home and abroad, and have been adopted and praised by international organizations (such as the United Nations and the International Telecommunication Union). Some indicators have been included in the annual statistical report of our government.
3. Directory database service
China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) is responsible for establishing and maintaining the highest-level network directory database in China, and providing query services for domain names, IP addresses, autonomous system numbers and other information.
4. Research and development of Internet addressing technology
