After graduating from the Literature Department of Beijing Film Academy, Ge Jing stayed as a teacher and worked in the Animation Institute of Beijing Film Academy. Member of Chinese Writers Association, director of Beijing Writers Association, elected as the representative of the 6th, 7th and 8th National Congress of Chinese Writers Association, and became the youngest representative for two consecutive years.

Ge Jing started publishing his works at the age of 9. Up to now, more than 300 novels, fairy tales, movie scripts and animated scripts with more than 2 million words have been published. There are 20 collections of long fairy tales and short fairy tales published in Yuben, with a cumulative circulation of several hundred thousand copies, which are very popular among young readers. Ge Jing's works have won many awards. The fairy tale "Meat Dog" won the jury prize of Taiwan Province Children's Literature Award, and the fairy tale "Zhong's Birthday" won the "Chen Bochui Children's Literature Award", the first prize of the China Children's Literature Award held on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, the outstanding works prize of Youth Literature, the international special prize of the International Youth Letter Writing Competition and the outstanding works prize of Story Writing Monthly.
