Wu Zetian's deeds

1, Ershengchao

In October (660) of the fifth year of the reign of Emperor Xianqing, Li Zhifeng had a seizure and was dizzy, so she could not handle state affairs, so she asked Wu Zetian to handle state affairs. But it also caused the rift between Wu Zetian and Li Zhi, and caused Wu Zetian to be almost abolished.

In the first month of the first year of Longshuo (66 1), Wu Zetian asked all women in the world not to perform Nuo You (referring to artists who perform burlesque), and Li Zhi adopted it and wrote a letter. In April, Li Zhi wanted to sign Goguryeo himself, but he gave up after the advice of Wu Zetian and his ministers.

In the first year of Linde (664), Li Zhi asked Prime Minister Shangguan Yi to draft a letter to abolish Wu Zetian. Before the ink was dry, Wu Zetian discovered it in time, and it was both hard and soft, so it had to end in failure. So, Wu Zetian suggested to Li Zhi that they should go to court together in the near future and listen to politics. Together, it is "double saints." Since then, Wu Zetian's political experience and influence have further increased.

Because of Li Zhi's strong national strength, Wu Zetian actively fled to Li Zhi to worship Mount Tai. When offering sacrifices to the god of heaven, the emperor deserves it first, and when offering sacrifices to the emperor, the queen mother deserves it. At the time of Zen, the emperor offered it first, and the minister offered it with a gift. But amenorrhea, after all, is none of the queen mother's business, so she added that amenorrhea is an instrument for sacrificing the country, which is shared by the queen mother and shows the virtue of staying behind.

After two years of dry sealing (667), Li Zhi, due to a long illness, ordered Prince Li Hong to supervise the country.

In April of the third year of Xianheng (672), Wu Zetian ordered someone to carve the Lushena Buddha in his own image at Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang, with a sum of 20,000 yuan. The project took three years and nine months to complete.

2. Love poems tell the truth

After the death of Emperor Taizong, as a talented person, Wu Zetian lived in Ganye Temple. Previously, Wu Zetian had a relationship with Prince Li Zhi (later Tang Gaozong). In Ganye Temple, Wu Zetian wrote a love poem "Ruyi Niang": "See Zhu Si thinking in succession, haggard and fragmented. If you don't believe it, you often cry and open the box to check the pomegranate skirt. " Wu Zetian often recited this poem in her later years.

Wu Zetian and Li Zhi are both husband and wife and political partners. After Li Zhi's death, Wu Zetian wrote a sincere eulogy, demanding that he must be buried with Li Zhi. The tombs of the two men were built according to the specifications of the buried tombs.

3. Dragon coup

In the first month of the first year of Shenlong (705), Wu Zetian was seriously ill and bedridden. In Yingxian Palace, only Zhang Yizhi and Zhang Changzong were attendants. Prime Ministers Zhang Jian, Cui Xuanyong and Shangshu Jinghui, Huan, Yuan, etc. He made friends with the imperial army, commanded Li Duozuo, and pretended to be two rebels.

So he launched a coup, led more than 500 imperial troops, rushed into Wei Zicheng, killed two, and immediately surrounded the fairy hall where Wu Zetian slept, demanding her abdication. Wu Zetian was forced to give up the throne and Prince Li Xian, and then moved to Shang Yang Palace (west of Wei Zi City in Luoyang, also known as "West Palace"). After Li Xian's return, he led hundreds of officials to ask about Wu Zetian's daily life in Guanfeng Temple, and went there every ten days thereafter.

Wu Zetian was honored as the "Emperor of Heaven" and the Wu and Zhou Dynasties ended. When the Tang Dynasty was restored in February, officials, flags, costumes and figures were all restored to the old system, and God was also called the East Capital.

According to records, Wu Zetian in her later years was "good at self-whitewashing. Although her children and grandchildren were around, she didn't feel old." When I abdicated and moved to Shangyang Palace, I stopped dressing up and looked haggard. Once, when Li Xian met Wu Zetian, he was afraid of it.

Wu Zetian cried: "I brought you back to Shen Du from Fangling, of course, to entrust the world to you, but the greed of the five thieves (the five kings who participated in the Dragon Coup) shocked me here."

Hearing this, Li Xian wept bitterly and knelt down to "thank humbly to death". Some people think that it is this incident that makes Wu Sansi and other Wu clansmen still be able to participate in the discussion of state affairs (because they think twice and get their own place).

On February 26th, the first year of Shenlong (65438+70516)1,Wu Zetian died at the Xianju Temple in Shangyang Palace at the age of 82. The testamentary edict omitted the title of the emperor, calling it "Great Sage Queen", and pardoned the Queen Wang and the relatives of Chu Suiliang, Han Yuan and Liu Yuan. In May of the second year of Shenlong (706), he was buried with Emperor Gaozong in Ganling.

Step 4 Create a new name

Wu Zetian created the script of Heaven for the cultural reform. Some Japanese characters have also spread to Japan and become the names of some Japanese. The seal of the new word Zetian was also found in Gyeongju, South Korea.

The year before Wu Zetian proclaimed herself emperor, she changed her name to "zhào". Qi is the writing of "Zhao" in Zetian, which means "the sun and the moon are in the sky". Also known as "blindness", it means "eyes in the air".

Wu Zetian thinks that she is as lofty as the sun and the moon, hanging high above the sky.

5, Phoenix to instrument

According to Zi Tong Zhi Jian, on September 5, the first year (690), the ministers said, "A phoenix flew out and landed on the sycamore tree in the palace." Wu Zetian led the crowd to watch. After seeing Wu Zetian, Phoenix flew to the southeast, but behind her, tens of thousands of rosefinch gathered in the court and danced, refusing to leave for a long time.

Seeing this scene, a minister immediately fell to his knees and explained to Wu Zetian, "Phoenix symbolizes you in the Jade Emperor. It flew to Su Zhengtai, saw you and left, suggesting that you became a treasure; These cardinals represent us. If you don't reign, it's against God's will. We can't afford to kneel if Suzaku doesn't leave! "

In a seemingly desperate situation, Wu Zetian decided to "conform to God's will" and became emperor, and tens of thousands of Suzaku really flew away behind him.

In fact, this is not really auspicious, but a public opinion created by Wu Zetian for the throne. Phoenix dressed as a peacock, "tens of thousands of cardinals gathered in court" because Wu Zetian sent someone to cover the court with bird food in advance and seized the right opportunity to release tens of thousands of cardinals from their cages. Birds that have been hungry for a long time naturally refused to leave in the court for a long time, so they successfully created this auspicious symbol.
