The world's largest battery energy storage power station project was officially put into production in Zhenjiang.

Jiangsu Zhenjiang power grid side energy storage power station project has been officially connected to the grid recently. With a total power of 10 1 10,000 kw and a total capacity of 202,000 kwh, this energy storage power station is the largest battery energy storage power station project in the world so far.

Jiangsu is a big economic province in China, and it is good at manufacturing. In 20 17 years, the maximum power load reaches1020,000 kwh. It is predicted that the maximum load in Jiangsu will increase by 10% this summer, reaching1.10.2 billion kilowatts.

Wang Xu, spokesperson of Jiangsu Power Grid and Minister of Development, said that the rising electricity load in Jiangsu is also a microcosm of many parts of the country ―― with the structural reform on the supply side, the economy is improving steadily, the demand for electricity is increasing, and the increase in high temperature weather is another important factor.

The development of energy storage projects is regarded by the industry as one of the important measures to solve the power shortage problem. Liu Gang, president of Jiangsu Electric Power Economic and Technological Research Institute, said that Zhenjiang energy storage power station project is like a super-capacity "charging treasure", which is used as a power load when the electricity consumption is low and as a power source to release electricity when the electricity consumption is high.

According to reports, as the largest battery energy storage power station project in the world so far, the system can provide nearly 400,000 kWh of electricity to Zhenjiang every day without building a new power station, which can meet the domestic electricity consumption of 6.5438+0.7 million residents, and reduce coal consumption by 5,300 tons every year, which is equivalent to avoiding the construction of a peak-shaving power plant with an installed capacity of 200,000 kilowatts, saving 65.438+0.6 billion yuan.

Analysts here believe that with the rapid economic development and the increasing high temperature weather, China's power supply is insufficient or becoming more and more obvious, especially in relatively developed areas, and it will encounter the trouble of "where does electricity come from?" . Because China has long been dominated by coal-fired power generation, accounting for more than 60%, but from the perspective of environmental protection, conventional coal-fired units will be restricted in the future.

Energy storage projects will also make new energy sources more stable and reliable. With the help of battery energy storage technology, solar energy and wind energy are no longer challenged by intermittent weather. Jiangsu Electric Power Company predicts that the popularization of large-scale energy storage power stations will significantly promote the development of new energy power generation in Jiangsu. It is estimated that by the end of 20 18, the installed capacity of wind power and photovoltaic in Jiangsu will reach 8.8 million kilowatts and1.6 million kilowatts respectively.
