Kunming, also known as Spring City, is a prefecture-level city, the provincial capital and the central city of central Yunnan urban agglomeration under the jurisdiction of Yunnan Province, and is one of the important central cities in western China identified by the State Council. Kunming is located in the southwest of China, in the middle of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, with a unique location of "connecting the coastal areas of Guizhou and Guangxi in the east, entering the Central Plains via Sichuan and Chongqing in the north, Thailand and Cambodia in the south, and Myanmar, India and Pakistan in the west", and it is at the intersection of "10+ 1" Free Trade Area Economic Circle, Greater Mekong Subregion Economic Cooperation Circle and Pan-Pearl River Delta Regional Economic Cooperation Circle. 1928 Kunming city was established and Kunming county was established in the suburbs.
