So what is a green building?
Green building refers to a high-quality building that saves resources, protects the environment, reduces pollution, provides people with healthy, applicable and efficient use space, and maximizes the harmony between man and nature.
China's construction industry has become the most energy-consuming industry. Under the background of energy saving and emission reduction, developing green buildings has become the general trend. In order to support the development of green building industry, the state has issued a series of policies, which require vigorously developing green buildings, popularizing green building materials and fully implementing green construction. Specifically, the green building should combine the local climate and natural resource conditions, and make rational use of renewable energy such as solar energy, geothermal energy and air energy. Water-saving facilities and appliances should be adopted, and non-traditional water sources such as rainwater and reclaimed water should be given priority in landscape water, greening water and road washing water.
For example, on September 28, 2022, Shanxi Province passed the Regulations on the Development of Green Buildings in Shanxi Province, which proposed:
(1) The design unit shall design the construction project scheme and construction drawing according to the green building construction index, and prepare the special design document for green building.
(2) The construction supervision unit shall carry out construction supervision according to the green building construction indicators and construction drawing design documents, and prepare the special construction supervision scheme for green buildings.
(3) The engineering quality inspection agency shall conduct inspection according to the relevant standards of green buildings, and shall not issue false inspection reports. Registered practitioners of design, construction and supervision units shall design, construct and supervise in accordance with green building construction indicators and related standards. For example, the energy efficiency evaluation system of renewable energy building application projects will be used by various architectural institutes, construction engineering testing units, manufacturers and scientific research testing units of Taichung University for testing related projects.
