Relevant treaties of the Council of Australia, New Zealand and the United States
An organization with the nature of military alliance composed of Australia, New Zealand and the United States. Shortly after the end of World War II, some leaders of Australia and New Zealand hoped to guard against the threat of Japan and enhance their international status by concluding some form of Pacific treaty with the United States. At that time, the United States had no time to take into account the suggestions of Australia and New Zealand. After the Korean War broke out, the United States began to discuss the collective defense in the Asia-Pacific region with Australia, New Zealand and other countries. 1 951September1day, representatives of the three countries signed the ANZ-US Security Treaty in San Francisco, with the terms *** 1 1. 1952 came into effect on April 29th. According to the treaty, the three countries believe that an armed attack on any country in the Pacific region will endanger the peace and security of all member countries, and the three countries will take actions to deal with the same danger according to their respective constitutional procedures. According to Article 7 of the Treaty, the ANZ-US Council was established on August 4, 1952. The Council meeting is held once a year, attended by the foreign ministers of the three countries, to exchange views on the political and military situation and collective defense arrangements in the Asia-Pacific region. 1963, according to the spirit of the treaty, the United States and Australia signed an agreement to establish a naval communication base in Australia. Up to now, 16 facilities with important military significance have been built.
