What is hallux valgus?

Hallux valgus is a common deformity of the foot, and its etiology is not clear, which is related to many factors. At present, the two main factors include the following aspects: first, the internal factors, that is, the genetic factors of patients, because this disease has been observed in clinic, some people have a certain degree of family aggregation, especially among women, such as mothers and children, so it can be proved that there are certain genetic factors, of course, this does not mean that all people are. Second, the external cause is mainly the patient's own factors, such as whether patients often wear pointed shoes or high heels, which are more prone to deformity than others, so high heels and pointed shoes are also one of the external causes of hallux valgus. In addition to the above factors, it is considered that it is related to structural abnormalities such as flat foot, flat foot, excessive toe pronation or high tension of adductor pollicis. There are other reasons such as rheumatic diseases, neuromuscular diseases, including cerebral palsy. Diseases and injuries at the neuromuscular junction, which have not been well rested or treated normally, are also one of the reasons for hallux valgus.
