Samsung will close the only TV factory in China. Where is this factory located?

The TV factory that Samsung wants to close is in Tianjin. According to media reports, this factory is Samsung's only TV factory in China, with three production lines as early as 1993.

According to insiders in the TV industry, Samsung has plans to sell the Tianjin factory, but it has not found a buyer yet, so it will not close the production line immediately. But it's really not easy for Samsung to sell this TV factory, because the competition pressure in China's TV industry is too great. TCL, Changhong, Skyworth, Hisense and other big brands have occupied a place in China, and they want to make money by selling TV sets in China. If industry integration is not in place and cost control is not good, they really can't make money. So until now, no company is willing to take over this factory. That's why it's too risky. Moreover, the quality and product function of domestic TV are relatively perfect, and the cost performance is also very high. Samsung's profits in the TV field have almost plummeted, plus the epidemic. Samsung certainly wants to withdraw from this competition early.

First, let's look at the market share of Samsung TV. According to the information consulting data of Beijing Xian Di, in the global TV market in the first half of 2020, Samsung ranked first with a market share of 18%, followed by LG with a market share of 10.7%, TCL ranked third with 9.5%, Hisense ranked fourth with 8.2% and Xiaomi ranked fifth with 5.4%.

According to the above data, we will find that the TV share of Korean companies Samsung and LG in the international market is really high, reaching as much as 30%. But the performance in our domestic market can be said to be very poor. So Samsung certainly doesn't want to do business at a loss. Anyway, the TV will be turned off if its performance is not good. However, Samsung's closure of this TV factory has little impact on Samsung as a whole. Many media on the Internet are advocating that Samsung will launch the China market according to Samsung's move, which is also irresponsible. At present, Samsung's investment in China has not decreased, but is still increasing. It is just that Samsung is getting rid of the unprofitable industrial chain and optimizing its industrial structure in China.

From the financial statements, although Samsung's TV profits have declined, the profits of other household appliances are increasing, and the sales of high-end TVs of organic light-emitting diodes are also increasing. So we can see that Samsung's business growth is mainly in household appliances and high-end TVs. However, the low-end TV market in China is not cheap.

Judging from the panel above, Samsung's panel business is losing money so far this year, so Samsung's business in China is also being adjusted one after another. From the perspective of other industries, Samsung's semiconductor is the key business to support enterprises.

At present, Samsung is still in the first camp in the world on TV, but its performance in China is not good. Closing the TV factory is only to adjust the industrial structure. Does not mean that Samsung is not popular in our country.
