The school has established a discipline and professional system integrating science, engineering, military, literature and management, which has obvious advantages in surveying and mapping navigation, foreign languages and literature, network security and informatization. At present, there are 8 first-class discipline doctoral authorization points, 1 two disciplines doctoral authorization points, 17 first-class discipline master authorization points, 7 two disciplines master authorization points, 10 full-time professional degree authorization fields, 5 post-doctoral research mobile stations, and 78 undergraduate majors are opened. It has 1 first-class discipline, 4 national key disciplines in two disciplines, 15 military (provincial) key disciplines, and 2 national characteristic construction majors. There are 1 national key laboratory, 1 national engineering laboratory, 1 national engineering technology research center, 2 national experimental teaching demonstration centers, 14 military (provincial) key laboratories, experimental teaching demonstration centers and engineering technology research centers. In the fourth round of national discipline evaluation, our school's surveying and mapping science and technology, information and communication engineering, computer science and technology entered the national A-level discipline, among which surveying and mapping science and technology ranked second in the country.

Scientific research and study
The school has an active academic atmosphere, strong scientific research strength and fruitful results, and is a scientific research innovation base in the field of military information. It has successively undertaken more than 3,000 national and military key scientific research projects such as the "863 Plan", "973 Plan" and the Nuclear High Court, and made outstanding contributions to the development of the "Light of Taihu Lake" giant high-speed computer, the "500-meter spherical radio telescope" FAST super radio telescope, manned space flight, lunar exploration project, quantum information, Beidou navigation, national high-speed information demonstration network and other major special projects. The school covers an area of nearly 8,000 mu. The campus is located in Zhengzhou High-tech Development Zone in Henan Province and jianxi district in Luoyang City, with convenient transportation and beautiful campus environment. The school has advanced teaching and research sites and complete facilities. There are more than 400 laboratories and teaching and training places. There are national teaching and research experimental platforms such as the State Key Laboratory of Mathematical Engineering and Advanced Computing, the National Engineering Laboratory of Computer Virus Defense Technology, the National Digital Program-controlled Switching Technology Engineering Center, and the China Remote Sensing Calibration Site.
