Turn off email scanning: Options-Internet-Email-Scan Content.

Just remove the check mark in front of the two options of scanning email.

PC- penicillin

Turn off mail scanning: Enabling POP3 scanning will delete the previous checkmark.

Just log in to outlook and reset your account information.
