After returning to the palace, he couldn't sleep well, and finally came up with a poisonous trick, killing Lu Gongzi and making Mochow a concubine in the palace. Mochow was filled with grief and indignation when she learned about it. She made up her mind that she would rather die than throw herself into a stone city and a stone lake. Neighbors learned that they came to the lake with pain to pay homage, and they refused to believe that such a good woman would throw herself into the lake.

Some people say that they heard Mochow crying in the middle of the night, others say that they saw a boat fall from the sky and took Mochow away ... People deeply miss her, and in order to commemorate her, Shicheng Lake was renamed Mochou Lake. Liang Wudi felt ashamed after hearing the news, so he wrote Song of the River.
