Being the boss of an Internet cafe is not an easy task. Everything should be taken into account, from making project budget, building Internet cafes to managing Internet cafes.
According to the red-tape regulations of the Communications Administration (the direct supervisor of Internet cafes), the unit applying for opening Internet cafes should have a business place with an actual use area of more than 50 square meters (the room should not be too bad, the area should not shrink too much, and someone will take a ruler). There are no other Internet cafes, more than 20 computers, more than one manager and more than two technicians within 200 meters of Fiona Fang. These people will ask for on-the-job training and examinations, and those who pass the examinations will be sent to their posts.
Internet cafe location:
Are there any other Internet cafes around your favorite location within 0/5 minutes by bike/kloc? Legal or illegal? How many/much? What business are they doing? Are there more people surfing the Internet or playing games? What is the price level? Where are you, near the business district, office district, industrial district, residential district, university, middle school and primary school? What is the flow of people? What is the age level? What is the consumption level? There are many solutions to this problem, and different people have different opinions. It is very important that there should be more than two Internet cafes around. If you open them, it will inevitably lead to a price war. If someone has been driving for a while and the cost has been partially or fully recovered, you will be at a disadvantage immediately. In three to five months, he will hurt you, and you may be dead.
Cost accounting:
This item is the most difficult to determine. How much you will spend depends on the size of your Internet cafe and the computer configuration. Here are two sets of budget plans for your reference.
Ordinary Internet cafes (except surfing the Internet, games have no future, and the biggest advantage is that they are cheap);

If funds permit, it is recommended to choose advanced configuration, because the requirements of software for computers are getting higher and higher, and many softwares will not run if the configuration is poor for a long time.
Internet cafes need a license.
1. Communication Administration applies for business license.

3. Apply for the Public Security Permit of Internet Cafe. The public security license for Internet cafes is issued by the Public Security Bureau (computer information) in the area where the Internet cafes are located, and it needs to be handled there. The staff of the Computer Security Section will ask your Internet cafe to have a fixed person in charge of network security and assess the personnel. If it passes the inspection, the district public security bureau will issue the "Internet cafe safety license" to the Internet cafe.

Second, the network infrastructure equipment
Before computers and other equipment enter the market, the first thing to consider is the selection and construction scheme of network infrastructure equipment. The choice of network infrastructure equipment is very important. I have been engaged in the network for many years, and I often see some Internet cafe owners blindly improve the configuration of stand-alone machines in equipment selection for the sake of being cheap, while lowering the grade of network basic equipment. As a result, network problems continue and the Internet access speed is extremely slow. As the foundation of building Internet cafes, network infrastructure equipment is difficult to transform after installation. So plan carefully before networking.
Network basic equipment includes network hub, network card, network cable, RJ45 crystal head and network miscellaneous parts (such as PVC pipes). When selecting these devices, we should first consider whether to build a 10M network or a 100M network. Considering the actual situation of Internet cafes, I recommend using 10M network, which is more economical. If we calculate with 20 computers in an Internet cafe, we need 8 ports of 10M network hub and 1 ports of 16, 20 10M network cards (PCI bus is recommended), a box of network cables (calculated by 30 square meters), 40 RJ45 connectors (more needed) and. Among them, the choice of network cable is very important. It is best to use brand-name super-5 network cable for wiring, and don't save money in this respect. If you buy a Category 5 line, you need to pay attention to whether it is a "fake Category 5", that is, a Category 3 line counterfeit. Network hubs and network cards use TPLINK. The crystal head should also be selected. Generally, 2 yuan is not bad. PVC pipe is a plastic pipe used to place the network cable, which has the functions of insulation and waterproof.

2 preparation work
Before you start network wiring, you should draw a structural sketch. Confirm the placement method and location of each computer, and then indicate the node location (that is, the placement location of each computer) on the map. According to the distribution of nodes, the placement position of the network hub is determined. Pay attention to the placement of gateway servers (that is, networked computers) in line with the home direction of network telephone lines, because the shorter the telephone lines, the better. Fig. 2 is a schematic diagram of the network wiring structure.
3? Start wiring
The first is "pay-off", which determines the distance between the network hub and each computer, intercepts the network cable of corresponding length respectively, and then passes the network cable through the pipe (PVC pipe). You can also walk directly along the wall without wearing a pipe. It should be noted that the length of twisted pair (network cable) cannot exceed 100 m, otherwise a repeater will be installed to amplify the signal.
Then, "make network connector", that is, make RJ45 twisted pair connector. Before we talk about how to wire correctly, let's explain the numbering rules of 8 pairs of twisted pairs. The numbering sequence is defined as follows: RJ45 with clip faces downwards, and one end of the eight gold-plated legs faces upwards, and from the left, it is 12345678. Let's talk about the so-called "1, 2, 3, 6" connection. "1, 2,3,6" is used for uplink and downlink data transmission, and 1, 2 and 3,6 are a pair each. 1, 2 We only need to use a pair of twisted pairs, and 3 and 6 use a pair of twisted pairs. As for the color, just one thing is fine. If you don't use the above connection method, you can also connect 8 wires separately. The specific method is to hold the RJ45 crystal head in the left hand and the wire in the right hand, and connect them in the order of brown, brown-white, blue, blue-white, green, green-white, orange and orange-white, and then clamp them with clamps. Under normal circumstances, the wiring should be done with special wire-clamping pliers (some experts can use needle-nosed pliers instead, but for the majority of novices, RJ45 crystal head is from 2 yuan, so it is better to use special wire-clamping pliers to be on the safe side). After connecting the wires according to the above method, clamp the RJ45 crystal head with a clamp and press it hard. It should be noted that the pressing line must be pressed to the end, usually two or three times.
Then, connect the completed connector with the network card. Pay attention to insert the connector into the slot of the network card, and gently insert it in parallel until you hear a click, so as to ensure good contact between the connector and the network card.
Insert the connectors made at both ends of the network cable into the network card and the network hub respectively, and the wiring work is basically completed.
Four, networking, detection and fault diagnosis
The next work is the specific networking work, including physical connection and peer-to-peer interconnection of computer operating systems. Judging whether the computer is physically connected is simple: check whether the indicator light on the network card or the corresponding indicator light on the network hub is normal. Usually, the green light on the network card indicates the network connection.
The physical connection of the network alone can't make the whole network work. You must configure the network for each computer. First, install the network card. Network cards can be divided into PCI and ISA according to bus standards. If you buy a PCI network card, there is generally no problem with the installation settings; If you buy an ISA network card, you may encounter conflicts between hardware devices during installation. At this point, you can reset IRQ and I/O using the diagnostics in the network card driver. Insert the network card into the motherboard, restart the computer, and set it in Windows. Select Add → Adapter in the network options of the control panel, and then select the manufacturer and network card model. Press OK, the added network card device will be displayed in the network window, and the corresponding network protocol and network client will be installed. Note that you only need to install TCP/IP protocol, Microsoft network client, file and printer. Double-click TCP/IP Protocol, and fill in the local IP address, subnet mask, gateway address and IP address of DNS server in the IP dialog box that pops up. For example, the author's setting: the local IP is192.168.0.1~192.168.0.20; The subnet mask is 255.255.255.0; The gateway address is192.168.0.1; The address of the DNS server is 61.128.128.68.
Open the "Identification" tab in the network dialog box, which is the place to give the machine a network name and divide the workgroup. Fill in the network name of your computer in Computer Name, which others can use to access your machine in My Network Places; Then fill in a workgroup name in Workgroup, which must be the same in the same LAN.
Now check whether the network is connected. Double-click My Network Places on the Windows desktop. If you see the names of yourself and other computers in the window that opens, it means that the network is connected.
If you don't see the computer name in My Network Places, you can diagnose it by following these steps:
1. Check whether the network is physically connected.
2. If you just can't see your local name, please check whether the "File and Printer * * *" service has been added.
3. If there is only yourself in the "Online Neighborhood", first make sure the network is physically connected, and then check whether the workgroup name is consistent with other computers.
4. If you can't see anything, there may be something wrong with the setting of the network card. Check the settings of the network card again, or try to replace the network card.
5. Due to the limitation of space, the use of network detection tools such as Ping and Tracert for diagnosis is not explained here.
Verb (short for verb) Access the Internet.
At present, the more economical way to access the Internet is to use Modem or ISDN dial-up Internet access, which is also the first choice of Internet cafe owners. Of course, if the level requirements are higher, you can also choose DDN/ADSL private line access. Designate a computer as the gateway server of the Internet cafe. After dialing in, all machines in other LANs can enjoy the dial-up connection of this machine. * * * Access to the Internet can only be achieved by installing TCP/IP protocol in all Internet access machines and installing proxy service software in the gateway server.
Using proxy server has two advantages: first, it can use its large cache to improve the internet speed; Second, it can act as a firewall. There are two kinds of proxy server software: one is a "caching" proxy server with caching function, such as Wingate, Winroute, MS Proxy and so on. The other is a simple "gateway type", such as Internet connection in Sygate and WIN98SE. Because the setup and management of "caching" proxy server is more complicated, it is beyond the scope of this article. Please refer to the related books separately (Editor's Note: This issue 19 introduces the setting and management of the "cache" proxy server-Wingate in detail). Here, the author briefly introduces the installation and use of WIN 98 SE(WIN 98 Second Edition) Internet connection.

First, make sure that the local area network inside the Internet cafe is connected, and then choose a computer as the network shutdown. Install WIN98SE operating system on gateway machine, and install Modem or ISDN at the same time to ensure the normal dial-up Internet access. The way to add an Internet connection is simple. Select Internet connection * * * in the Internet Tools option of Windows Installer and follow the prompts to install. The IP address is set to192.168.0.1.
2. Settings of the client computer
In the fourth part of this paper, "networking, detection and fault diagnosis", the author has introduced the networking settings of computers, which can be set according to the above methods. The most important point is to specify the gateway address as192.168.0.1,that is, the IP address of the network shutdown. In addition, the IP address of the DNS server can be set as the DNS server provided by ISP, such as: 61.128.438+028.68. Use the Ping command on the client's computer to check whether it is connected to the Internet through * * * (as shown in Figure 5). If you Ping the specified IP on the Internet, it means that you are finished.

In fact, the work of building a network is very practical. You must do it yourself in order to have a deeper understanding of some essentials of building a network. I don't have much experience to talk about Some important experiences gained by the author in the process of opening Internet cafes are listed as follows:
The installation and setup of 1.ISDN are not much different from ordinary modems. However, if you want to surf the Internet at the speed of 128K, you need to double-click properties on the established ISDN dial-up network connection, select multiple links, use additional devices, add, select ISDNLine 1, and dial again after confirmation.
2. Usually, a modem can't bring 20 computers to the Internet, and the speed of browsing web pages and chatting is similar to that of a single computer. However, it should be noted that it is best not to let several computers download online at the same time, because downloading from multiple computers at the same time will seriously slow down the speed of the whole network.
3. For low-level operators, it is necessary to install some Internet bar management software such as "Internet bar management experts", "Meiping security guards" and firewall software.
4. After the normal operation of Internet cafes, it is necessary to check the network regularly. According to the author's experience, the devices that are most prone to problems are network hubs and network cards. So it is best to have a spare network hub and network card. Once problems are found, they can be replaced in time, so as not to affect the normal operation of Internet cafes.
